How to Make Cold Brew Coffee
The first thing to know about cold brew coffee is that it’s not just another term for iced coffee. It’s coffee that’s actually brewed without heat. Because of that, making cold brew coffee takes some patience, but to a lot of people, it’s worth it. Why? Because it tends to taste smoother and sweeter. Here’s how to try it for yourself.
What You’ll Need: 2 Pitchers, Measuring Cup, 1 Cup Coffee Grounds, 5 Cups Distilled or Filtered Water, Large Spoon, Strainer, Cheesecloth
Brew Time: 12+ Hours
1. MEASURE & MIX
Add 1 cup of 1850® coffee grounds to a pitcher and stir in 5 cups of water.
2. CHILL & STIR
Refrigerate the mixture for at least 12 hours. Then remove it from the fridge and stir.
3. REMOVE GROUNDS
Line a strainer with cheesecloth. Pour the coffee mixture through the cheesecloth and strainer into a separate pitcher.
4. DILUTE IT
Cold brew coffee is more concentrated than other coffee. For the recommended strength, stir in another 1½ cups of water. Serve and enjoy.
